The are many covert video pens out on the market. The video pens are a working pen that have digital video recorders built in to them that are capable of recording good quality video.

The video pens work simular to USP flash drives. They can have many different memory storage options such as 4GB and 8GB models. The typical battery life is about 1 hour per 1 GB of storage. Some video pen models are motion activated.

Typically the video pens have an on/off button located on the top or side. You push it once to power the device up. Push it again and it is in record mode. Push it again and it stops recording.

Once you complete this cycle the video pen creates a mpeg 4 video file on its pen drive. Most video pens have a time date stamp as well as audio.

To play back the video you simply plug the pen drive into your usb port and navigate to the video file section of the pen drive. Double click to open and view video files.

There is a program that is call xp codec pack that will install the proper codecs on your computer if you are having problems viewing the video files properly.

Video pens have been proven tools for many police and government agents to record surveillance video.
